Loveworld TV station of Christ Embassy owned by Pastor Chris has been fine the sum of £125,000 by the Office of Communications in the United Kingdom. Loveworld received the sanction on the last day of March. In a sermon aired by the religious channel, pastor Chris publicly claimed the covid-19 pandemic was a hoax fix upon the world by some powerful people.

Ofcom said in a statement that the TV station was fined £125,000 (N65.6m) for breaching the country’s broadcasting code by disseminating misinformation on COVID-19 rules. Earlier on when the corona virus first broke, Pastor Chris had build up conspiracy theories around the Covid-19 pandemic for more than ten hours on air, with no single prove or evidence to back up his claim.

The UK agency had warned Loveworld to desist from such misinformating act, then Loveworld was able to convince the office such thing will not repeat itself, but it does just few days ago, a pastor Chris sermon castigating world government, claiming the corona virus vaccines is a plan to make some people rich and people shouldn't take it. Now he's been fine for saying too much of what he doesn't know and him and his ministry will have to cough out £125,000 to the UK government for his tantrum.

Now it's not clear how or if Loveworld and pastor Chris ministry can cough out such amount of money considering what the covid-19 had already done to religious gatherings around the world, pastor Chris ministry must have been affected greatly by the lockdown and subsequent gathering rules that follows. Even if he can afford this fine by the UK government, what if other countries which the sermon was aired decided to take actions too, will the ministry still be standing if?

Sometines, a little too much is a sin too.
