A father in Ilorin, Oyefeso Saheed, gave out his 12-year-old child in marriage in exchange for a laptop.
The said father, was remanded for giving out his 12-year-old daughter in marriage.
The said father allegedly collected a HP laptop as the bride price for giving out his underage child for the exchange.
The ridiculous reward was doubled when the father in question got remanded by a family court at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin for the act.
The female Magistrate Shade Lawal also ordered the remand of the victim’s purported husband, Ismail Lawal, a 32yr old man before adjourning the case.
Could this shameful act be attributed to poverty, ignorance or stupidity?
