Novak Djokovic will remained in the Australian Open singles draw despite facing tough times by the australian immigration authority.

As the decision on whether the defending champion will stay in the country drags on, the draw was delayed at the last minute until Thursday morning by around an hour without an explanation.

Local media reported that Djokovic was paired to play his Serbian counterpart Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. While sixth seed Rafael Nadal will open his campaign against unseeded American Marcos Giron.

In the women’s draw, Australian top seed Ash Barty will start her bid for a maiden home Grand Slam title against a qualifier, while defending champion Naomi Osaka will open against Colombia’s Camila Osorio.

Without any doubts, it's established that Novak Djokovic will participate in the Australian open this year.
