Barbados, a former British colony transitioned from a Realm to a Republic from monday midnight, November 30. It marks the first time British ties will be cut with the Caribbean island since 1625 when the first English ship arrived there.
The Queen will be replaced by Governor-General Sandra Mason who was elected president. Among guest on the night are the Prince of Wales  who attend the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony to mark Barbados’ transition to a Republic within the Commonwealth.

A mounted Guard of Honour escorted The Prince of Wales to Heroes Square in Bridgetown. It seems to the Barbados island, Monarchies are a relic of the past. Believe it or not, most people don't want to be ruled by someone who's an entire ocean away from them.

I guess you cannot have two masters. In the era of corporate governance the British Royals have to abdicates.
