DISSECTING THE DISTURBING & EXPENSIVE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NIGERIA AND NIGER REPUBLIC
There’s a claim that the federal government have spent more money on Niger Republic than any other states in the country.
The secessionist Biafra leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu raised an important trending issue. He said, the Nigeria government has spent more money in Niger Republic than the whole of South. He listed;
$2B for a refinery in Niger Republic, $1.96B for railway to Niger Republic, $81M for 2 roads to Niger Republic. If this is true, it means the Nigerian government have spent more money on Niger Republic than any other states in Nigeria.
The question is what can Nigeria do about it if it's true. The fact is there's nothing a regular Nigerian can do. If the citizens decides to ask questions, the government will be silent about it.
However, any of the president's colleague or spokesman will counter it as lies. But it's really disheartening to know a thing like this cannot the checked, questioned, challenged or verified by any Nigerian irrespective of what they think or thought about the way the country is run.
