DISTURBING TALE OF RUTH: AN ABDUCTED CHIBOK GIRL WHO WAS CONVERTED & MARRIED IN CAPTIVITY
Ruth was not a Muslim when she was abducted, she did not decided to be one, she was forced to convert and marry
Something very strange and disturbing was in the news few days ago. It mentioned that the released Chibok Girl and her "husband" (Boko Haram member) surrendered to the authority. A Ruth Musa who was kidnapped years back was also forced into Islam and subsequently marriage by her abductors.
How do anyone correlate a repentant Boko Haram member, a christian female child converted to Islam under duress and subsequent marriage to her abductor. Is it not imperative for her to be separated from the surrendered Boko Haram member first and be given a chance to return to her previous confessional faith and family.
Is it not right that her rights that was suppressed by Boko Haram must be fully restored to her. The media isn't right for referring to the terrorists her "husband". Unfortunately so, the supposed "husband" would be given a pass and pat on the back for fathering two kids by an unwilling 14 year old innocent student.
Surrendering and renouncing membership of Boko Haram. But no sanctions for; Kidnapping, Killing, Abduction, Rape, Terrorism etc? the country which such occurrences has a government. The man was seen sitting regally with the girl's parent like, I have repented and my sins forgiven and forgotten', figured they dont even know the concept of legalities about crime and punishment. They see it in terms of sin and forgiveness.
