GOVERNOR EL-RUFAI RENEWED A DECADE HOSTILITY WITH PETER OBI
It was reported that kaduna state government restricts a northern support group for Obi-Datti presidential race.
According to reports, Kaduna state government have restricted the Obi-Datti presidential race northern support network by declining the use of Arewa house for labor party campaign.
It was also believed that the action may be connected with Obi’s restriction of el-Rufai’s movement during a governorship election in Anambra State over a decade ago.
However, the Peter Obi Support Network (POSN) condemned el-Rufai’s decision to decline the use of the Arewa house less than 24 hours before the commencement of the program, after due payment has been made.
Arewa House was earlier promoted as the venue for the event, but the governor allegedly put a lock on the doors of the famous state house.
In a press statement signed by its spokesman, Sani Altukry, POSN noted that El Rufai, through his spokesperson, reportedly called the Manager of Arewa House less than 24hrs before the commencement of the program to notify POSN spokesman of the unavailability of the venue for the Peter-Datti Northern Summit.
While regretting that the governor failed to give any reason for turning down the group’s widely advertised use of the venue.
Altukry explained: “The summit is not a political campaign of any sort, but a convergence of volunteers, would-be volunteers and supporters of the Obi-Datti project for necessary interaction and cross-fertilisation of ideas.
I don't know why the state government had to halt the process and commencement of the meeting.
