The Palestinian had denied Lionel Messi and co. a chance to play a football game in the city of Jerusalem. Palestinian football Federation chairman Jibril Rajoub said a letter had been forwarded to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Rajoub told the governing body that Jerusalem was already declared a divided city in a United Nations (UN) resolution. So as for this reason, it couldn't host a internationally acclaimed ootball match.

The August 4 tie was scheduled to hold in the Malha district, site of a Palestinian village, which was official classified as a racist district. Barca’s planned opponents, Beitar Jerusalemis also classified as a racist club.

This is not the first time a football game had been called off due to disagreement between all the parties involved: In 2018, Rajoub opposed a match of Argentina’s national team in Jerusalem. It was eventually called off.

Raojub was banned by FIFA for 12 months for inciting hatred and violence on Lionel Messi and calling for his shirts and posters to be burn. Obviously, the  FIFA ban hasn't robbed on him a bit because eventually, the Barca game may not hold.
