Report has shown in the United States, cases are beginning to rise again in some cities, hospitalizations also ticking up in some areas. The twists and turns of a pandemic can be hard to predict, although, this recent increase is expected and clearly inevitable.  A variant more transmissible and more deadly called B.1.1.7. It has established itself at the precise moment when many regions are opening up rapidly by lifting mask mandates, indoor-gathering restrictions, and occupancy limits on gyms and restaurants. It seems the fourth surge is upon the world and either way we look at it, the world is definitely progressing in its fight against the corona virus.

The edge the Americans have on their variant is that though different, there's an unparalleled supply of astonishingly efficacious vaccines being administered at an incredible clip. If the country could act more  quickly, this surge could be merely a blip within the U.S and wouldn't spread outside to the other world and  more people will become infected by this terrible new variant, which is acutely dangerous to those who are not yet vaccinated.

The United States has an advantage that countries such as Canada, France, Germany, Italy and other African countries who are also experiencing surges from this variant, don’t have. The Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines work very well against this variant, and the U.S. has been using them to vaccinate more than 3 million people a day. This means, some countries depending on AstraZeneca and all other vaccines will be exposed to this variant even if been vaccinated.

Whatever happens to this variants depends on the actions and body language of the United States, it its vaccination tag of 3 million people per day amount to more than 4 percent of it vaccine-eligible population every three days. This is an astonishing 73 percent of people over 65, and 36 percent of all eligible adults in the country, have already received at least one dose. More than 50 million people are now considered fully vaccinated, having received either their booster dose or the “one and done” Johnson & Johnson shot.

With such statistics, if the United States could curb it variant cases by not allowing a spread therough boarders of the world, the projections of the world opening up soon might be realistically. Many states have already opened up vaccination to anyone over 16, and everyone eligible is expected to have a chance to get at least a first dose no later than May.
