But one of Nigerian former military ruler of the period Gen. Badamosi Babangida has reiterated that it's a silly coment to make, he said the military rule time and period isnt a setback to the nation, stressing that the involvement of the military rule should rather be seen as a blessing because military rulers also put in policies and infrastructures which the country still enjoy its dividend till date.

He also stressed that if Nigeria wasnt been ruled by the military as at the time he went into a civil war, things might have been really bad across board and no one would've been able to predict the outcome of the crisis, although the civil war is a major setback, it's still a major opportunity for a military personnel to be in power as at the period the country is under a military trial.

Although, one couldn't determine if there wasn't a military rule at the time, the civil war could've have been avoided afterall.
