Juan Mata says his winner at Wolves, and every goal he scores from now own, will be dedicated to his late mother, Marta Garcia, who very sadly passed away recently.
Manchester United no.8 responded to his penalty strike at Molineux by pointing to the sky and blowing a kiss, and he talked afterwards about the obvious emotion behind the goal.
“I have had the most difficult season in my life, for sure. I wanted to score for my mother and, thankfully, I did it,” he explained. “So this goal, and every goal that I score from now on, is going to be for her.”
