Major League Baseball moves all-star game out of Atlanta to protest new Georgia law that critics say adversely affects ability of people of colour to vote, particularly in underserved areas. Several companies with headquarters in Georgia have also condemned the law. In retrospect, tourism will drop any time low, it's economy will suffer, a good job business will shift gear and runaway. That is the reality.

Good move by the MLB. The voter suppression laws enacted in Georgia and many other states are insanely racist. It's easier to buy a gun than vote for some people. This is what taking a stand vs. injustice looks like. It's not allyship. It's partnership b/c #MLB realizes what affects some of us affects ALL of us. We must force more corporate entities to step up.

This action might spell doom for MLB because the temptation to become political is ever-present but must be avoided at all costs for a sports league; as it is for any business seeking to appeal to all markets, the ratings for the NFL is a proof. But one can argue that If you live in a democracy, being pro-democracy is not being "political".

So we can actually say; Well done @MLB for taking a stand. It blows my mind that part of this law makes it illegal to take food or water to people who are standing in line to  vote for hours on end. This kind of voter suppression is utterly repugnant.
