On Twitter, David Hundeyin said; "For those who still haven't got the memo, COVID-19 is no longer about science. It is now a full blown geopolitical event. Decisions relating to COVID-19 are political decisions, not scientific ones. As a continent, Africa needs to start making those political decisions."

But it seems the African continent haven't got the clue yet, especially a country like Nigeria who have come forward to have traced two contact to the variant in Nigeria. Still looking for the financial benefits that comes with increase in COVID numbers like it use to.

His reactions on these issues are eye opening; Stop letting more powerful countries blackmail you with "Oh but the science..." It's a lie. The science didn't say shit. The science knows as little about COVID-19 as most of us, and humanity's entire response to it has been pure, undiluted, uncut political theater.

It clearly wasn't our imaginary lockdowns and testing, or our nonexistent mass vaccinations that stopped "millions of Africans dying in the streets." In line with this empirical reality, we must stop COVID theater on the continent. We can't afford it. That's a political decision.

Other reactions support his stance: Where African countries fucked up was joining the lockdown with these folks mehn. Just imagine AU red listed those countries during covid. For the first time we had the chance to conquer and be the forerunner of a world crisis but we decided to yo-yo out.

Another reactions says; Political leaders in Africa cldn't see that opportunity. Instead they saw it as opportunity to borrow & steal. Lots of money were borrowed with covid. A female minister in Nigeria was on air during covid & said they shared trillions of naira within 3 days to all Nigerians;Big Lie.

Banning is not only knee-jerk, it is a sign of not knowing what to do.....it is high time countries stopped running away from the virus. Covid 19 is here to stay, we have to learn to live with it as we do with malaria.

These and many more are pointer to the fact that the African continent is capable of owning his own on decisions partaining to the pandemic.
