The former pension commission boss who lumped bail and was arrested and repatriated from Niger to face court cases has been found guilty of embezzlement and money laundering.
The high court sitting in Abuja sentenced him to eight years imprisonment for misappropriation of fund, money laundering and embezzlement.
Judge Okon Abang said that he was convinced that Maina stole over N2b pension funds leading to the death of many pensioners as they couldn't collect their pensions.
It was difficult taking him out of the court premises.
