In recent days, the Nigerian ruling party have witnessed more defection than it has for the past three years, party magnate ranging from different states and political offices have left their political parties which they have alligned with in the last general election to win their various political space. We have witness recently Affinities, loyalties and party membership changing at face values due to a reason or the other.

But truth be told, these politicians are leaving for their own self interests without considering what the nation or their political position could benefits from their actions. The last time massive defection took grand stage, people were of the opinion that it was for the better good of the nation, defectors pretending they had left the party for the common good of the nation, but it’s of no consequences to them to established now that they have chosen the path of survival because it is the issue of political survival and not any thing for the country.

Needless to say it’s becoming normal norms for politicians to defect once it’s seen their party standings is no longer favorable to them, should the populace encourage such selfish act, this is just the beginning, but if the electorate decided to call it quit with the decamping factor, then the electorate might be heading for a liberation song.

To other effects, younger generations are emerging and guning for the leadership and mantle of power in the country, these latest development coming from the youth might be the master stroke to set the cause of the country on a better recovery path should the electorate sees a honorable mandate in it. One factor couldn’t be erased it’s time for the country to make a decision, a big one at rewriting the wrongs of time and ages past.
