The Headies organisers deciding to hold the 2022 awards in USA actually makes no sense to me; Why move the award ceremony to another continent entirely? It seems like the organisers are seeking validation which is belittling. We underrate our nation (Nigeria) & Africa a lot.
Well an African award should be held in Africa, but showcasing our culture and African art internationally would give Africa broader recognition, sponsorship etc. Mind u Africans don't appreciate their arts as much except when internationally recognised. Another Angle tho.
We've been in the internet age, but the truth still remains thesame. When the African Leaders and it's people begin to cherish our heritage, arts and norms and value it in very high regard, until then these kind of situations will still occur..
So those who organised the event ain't Nigerians , they don't even cherish themselves , will the leader force you to cherish urself , keep blaming everything on the leader as if they are magicians.
Why won't they move have Nigeria not underrated its self already? We don't value our own citizens talk more of award shows,is Nigeria safe? Small thing people shoot gun no value again people don't want to drink water or eat in Nigeria again because it have cast.
The same America where people enter malls and schools and start shooting? Cancel it, make it virtual or hire security.
