NIGERIANS REACT AS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MOVE TO SCRAP NYSC

Following the plan of the National Assembly to scrap the National Yourh Service Corps, with the bill passing the first reading already, Nigerians especially students and graduates have reacted over the decision. Here are some reactions to that effects;

This NASS are full of useless people. Instead of focussing on how to create jobs for the poor graduates, they're here talking trash. In the years gone, graduates get jobs immediately they graduate. Now, many graduates become more frustrated even after NYSC...Scraping NYSC is off it, rejuvenating the program should be the focus. But then again, our legislators seem to have a knack for quickly passing irrelevant bills. Imagine this getting to its second reading already whilst bills protecting lives didn't make it past 1st reading.

At the end of the program have them develop a project from scratch however small & present them with startup packs in the form of the acrued allawee. The aim of the NYSC was defeated many years ago,time to evolve moreso in the face of  unemployment & poverty....I hope NYSC is finally scrapped, been my wish since forever. Time to move our Nation and our young graduates into a knowledge based economy by equipping them with the necessary tech,vocational and entrepreneurship skills for a year,

We don't need nysc for national integration, we need true pro people policy, equity and justice and there will be unity- not this jamboree. It encourages corruption, risks young graduates lives on the roads and put them in danger in foreign lands. Plus you save billions of naira. Yes..It's endangering too many NYSC members or it should be posted within state of origin.....Ask everyone here with comments to show their NYSC certificate,  because some persons who have not experienced the scheme are here shouting. As for those in National Assembly calling for scrapping, I don't blame them, we shall soon call to scrapping of one chamber soon.

More persons who came back from NYSC end up disliking the places and the lifestyle/value system/beliefs of the people they were deployed to. About 7 of 10 of my friends that came up north hated the north the more. How then does NYSC unite us...All these and many more are reactions to the decision to scrap the service corps, what's your own opinion about the decisions?
