NO SAINTS IN NIGERIA POLITICS AS GOV. MAKINDE FLAG OFF A BILLION NAIRA GOVERNORS LODGE

The Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde has approved over a billion naira governors lodge for construction, the new project that's worth #1.2billion according to report has generated a lot of reactions. The contract which has been signed and sealed and fixed to commence soon has generated a lot of criticisms from Nigerians who couldn't understand why the oyo state government needs such a project with huge finance, despite the unavailability of funds and economy hardship ravaging the country in a pandemic era.

The Oyo state governor have since inception been perceived as a new breed of Nigerian politics with the intentions of doing things differently from old norms, but his expenses these days have shown he might not be different from the old and thieving elites in Nigerian politics who has turned the country finanacial abilities upside down till date.

Recently, the Oyo state governor have spent millions of naira in procuring bicycles for Oyo state government staffs working within the governor office premises to move around, he had insisted his intentions then was to facilitate easy movement for the workers within the premises. These expenses had also generated diverse criticism even amidst his staffs which he thought he was doing a favour.

Gov. Seyi Makinde had rode on his fresh introductions into politics to win the guber race in Oyo, but he's fast becoming a old wine in a new bottle with his financial expenses. A renovation of the old governors house with a couple of millions even lavishly would've been understandable, but spending over a billion naira on a new project which isn't dire or contributed in anyway to the general welfare of the populace in Oyo is a luxury which can be avoided in a time like this.
