The NYPD have part of Times Square closed for an investigation, while fire units also arrived on the scene. Although the exercise only lasted a few hours.
Suspicious packages and truck fires are not new, unfortunately. But bomb threat is weird. Exactly. 260,000 vehicles cross the Bay Bridge every day. Accidents, stalls, and the occasional fire are just part of life. This one just was a little more spectacular than usual.
Because a man parked a black van near the library and claimed he had a bomb in his van.
But in a short time, the suspicion was investigated and subsequently cleared for the scare. The van was cleared and deemed to be not suspicious.
