Nigerian government since it inception in 2015 has been putting in place means to improve agricultural produce in the country following the collapse of crude price in the oil market.

The subsequent alternative for the economy is to purely focus on agriculture, this recent development sees the Nigerian government turning it focus mainly on rice production as it’s the most lucrative food produce any country can venture into.

Nigeria with its huge population boosting of around 200million has in the past depended solely on importation of grains for his huge populations on feeding, this is a very shameful proposition as it’s very disturbing when permutations of import duties the government pay per year for this commodities is released.

But the subsequent decision for the government to look into it and formally work on a means to put the country on the phase of food productions is yet to pay off.

As the product is yet to achieve world standard, the populace in response didn’t fully patronize the farm produce, this unpatronizing body language further put the fight against imported food produce in a culminated mayhem the country is facing in food and local economy growth.

In response, the Buhari administrations put in place restrictive measures to improve the patronage and productions of food produce in the country by placing embargoes and strict tariff measures on imported food products in order to promote and subsequently set the country’s agricultural economy in a progressive step.

But the productions of this grains is yet to meet the standards of the products the general populace is used to, been an infant in food productions, the quality of rice available in the market isn’t in the same standard with import products, this make the populace to be skeptical in it patronage and subsequent consumption.

But, in reality, it’s everyone’s responsibility to put all hands on deck to support and patronize this substandard made in Nigeria food products in order to set the industry in a growing food production economy in the world.

An expert on macro and micro economic policies lend his voice on a situation like this, stating that “for any economy in the world to grow, it first needs it population either huge or small to take to it patronage before it can be accepted in the export market” he further postulates that the refining and polishing of the products to attain world standard will come by the regular patronage, increase patronage will enable the producing plants to further improve it productions in as much as there’s a flow in production and sales respectively, the sector is bound to grow.

Patronizing Nigerian goods is like saving for the rainy days in the sense that the continual produce will be refined to a reputable standard and also set the product pricing at an affordable price tag and in kickback helps the country’s economy to grow, this will translate into the country’s economy growth and development.
