REACTIONS AS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COMMENCE $11B RAIL TRACK PROJECT

The Nigerian government has begun the construction of a new rail line from Lagos to Calabar. It will cost $11 billion and will cover Calabar, Uyo, Aba, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Otuoke, Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, Benin, Agbor, Asaba, Onitsha, Ore, Ijebu Ode, Sagamu and Lagos.

While some Nigerians laud the efforts, some say it's unnecessary luxury and definitely not what the country need at the time, here are some reactions to it; 

Nigerians don't urgently need rail lines, FG should get their priorities straight. What Nigerians desperately needs is steady electricity, this will significantly reduce the cost of production thereby making life easier for all; Nig. also needs security & affordable health care......oga we badly need rail lines if we have rail the pressure on the roads will reduce, kidnapping will reduce and the cost of transportation of goods will reduce which will reduce inflation always think broadly stop narrow mindedness.

Have you ever thought of these evil people bombing rails.. rail is more risky to me.....Rail is more safer than road, so far nobody has bombed any rail or airline in Nigeria ill go by rail than road anyday.....Contrary to your opinion, we need rail lines and urgently too. It'll ease transportation issues and it's safer too.

We’re talking about priority here Bruv, power is more important than railways ....Lol... Those 2nd hand abi 3rd hand train that will end up stopping in the middle of no where is what people are picking over stable electricity and even security....E be like say boko haram and all this bandits naver enter ur community...you will soon know security first before transportation. Whatever this government will do life's and properties first spending money while doctors are on strike

And rail lines wouldn't reduce the cost of goods and services? U think we had the whole nation connected,we would be battling a double digit inflation rate?.....I never said Nigerians don't need rail lines, I said as for now it's not a priority. We have bigger issues that urgently needs tackling which u know. FG already has a lot of unfinished projects plus Nig. lacks basic social amenities & security. FG is just out to embezzle funds.

Inflation isn't a priority?...Maybe u should check the meaning of inflation. If there's anything we urgently need to fix, it's the inflation rate....I am not shading d project cos the project is a very nice one but it's a long time project which could even take up to 5 years before completion, definitely that's not an urgent solution. Yeah, it is a solution but it's a long time solution
