REACTIONS ON BRAZIL’S LACKADAISICAL APPROACH TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS WHICH LED TO HUGE DEATH TOLL
The Brazil president have been under criticism for his country’s lackadaisical approach to Covid-19 which leads to huge death toll in a single day.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has shrugged off criticisms that he is "genocidal" in his opposition to Covid-19 restrictions, as the nation recorded its deadliest 24 hours of the pandemic so far. The country recorded over 5,000 death in a single day and the figures keeps increasing as theories no emergency preparations due to his believe in the herd community resistance. Thi is why he won't put in place the measures other world leaders are taking to curb much deaths and rates of Covid-19 infection in Brasil?
He could have, and it would earn him popularity. But noooo, he prefers to go the opposite way and lead the country into a civil war. His followers are getting more and more radicalized every day. He could have, and it would earn him popularity. as of now, Brazil's administration stands as a threat not only to Brazilians, but to the international fight against COVID-19 as well. Bolsonaro is a genocidal maniac and we need to spread awareness about what's going on. enough is enough.
Rampant poverty makes it so people are way less likely to adhere to the measures out of fear of starvation. Besides, he pretends that it hasn't worked in the rest of the world and most of the population just believes whatever he says. Because that would put lots of western countries in the same "genocidal" labelling as most of them were firmly against any form of restrictions last year.
He just couldn't take that pressure. But he's the only one who keeps fighting against lockdown, social distance measures, mask usage and on top of all that promoting useless drugs and fake treatments. People are having liver transplants because of the drugs he's promoting. According to polls (the same that predicted him winning in 2018 after some events), he lost a lot of his popularity. Still, many find it easier to blame the handling of coronavirus on literally EVERYONE except him and his government
I feel deeply sorry for what Brazilian people are going through. We have a similar president here in Chile and it’s frightening to think we’ll end up the same. He refused to negotiate with the laboratories, denied the lockdown measures and does not believe in the scientists advises. So, he is indeed a genocide.
