It's in the news that Police officer responsible for pepper spraying Army Lt. Caron Nazario on December 5, 2020 has been fired. Let’s make it clear, he was fired because there was a video that went viral. He got caught. They got caught. Imagine how many other times it happened without videos going viral to fight back. The question is did the officer get fired because of bad publicity and the lawsuit or because he was wrong and have already gone out of the etiquette of the profession.

So this happened in decemeber and an internal investigation concludes department policies weren’t followed. But he wasn't fired. Now the video goes viral and he gets fired, this is just so wrong. At what point can they be trusted just to do the right thing, and not have to be publicly shamed into it.

Windsor is another of those little hamlets with nothing around for miles. This is a good example of why we need standardized requirements for the hiring of law enforcement. Being a veteran does not qualify anyone for this job. Unfortunately being a veteran is what get many hired, notwithstanding they may have had issues in the military.

If Nazario didn't file a lawsuit, no one would've heard about this, the police officer wouldn't have been fired, this happened 4 months ago. Seems like the Windsor, Its seems the police were trying to cover it up else the police officer wouldn't have fired him. Bad publicity. If nothing was on camera he wouldn’t have been held accountable. The video was bad enough but the audio was what got him. Glad he’s fired but it’s not enough.
