REASONS COACHELLA AND STAGECOACH FESTIVALS POSTPONED TO THE FUTURE

Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals have been pushed back for the fourth time to spring 2022, according to a report. One of the things that is responsible for such decisions to push to 2022 is the linear thinking. People seem to think the Covid situation will continue to get better & better which seems unlikely if the right decisions are not made. This summer could be great and winter could be bad again if all cautions are quickly thrown to the wind.

The world is yet to determine which direction Covid will take. It could be through getting enough vaccination + natural immunity makes it largely goes away & never returns, but the likely scenario is it keeps mutating because enough of world doesn’t get vaccinated which is a danger to the vaccinated folks. If these happened, a seasonal endemic will be in the boom.

If the later is the way this plays out, it has broad implications for health professionals, business owners, economics. Because of this, a business leader in entertainment willing to get summer events in this summer would be more concerned about next NBA & Arena tours. Assuming this does become endemic: it ultimately means folks will have to show proof of vaccination to attend large scale events. 

People aren’t going to want to attend Coachella, Super Bowl, cruise ships  & pay big dollars and be worried the whole time about Covid-19. So the bottom line is that, I think large scale get togethers will return to normal. But it’s gonna be weird. It will be totally normal for the vaxxed up crowd. Meanwhile health professionals & central banks will be dealing with the consequences of non-vaccinated for years to come. 

Final side note is that it will be more difficult for cities like Vegas, Orlando, NYC to figure out than it will be for individual businesses, ships, arenas. they will put in their own rules in their own ecosystem. Figuring out how to make entertainment cities appealing is harder.
