In a meeting of the southern governor in Asaba, they agreed no going back on Nigerian unity

A meeting of the Southern Governors Forum too place in Asaba where issues affecting nigerian security is addressed. The governors at the end of the meeting issued a communique where they pledged their commitment to the unity of their country.

The Forum also affirmed the urgent need for the country to restructure to allow for the evolution of state police and a new revenue formula that favours the states as federating units.

The forum recognised the issue of the Oshodi - Apapa Expressway and the chokehold it has caused being the sole outlet from Apapa Wharf. The meeting therefore recommended the activation and establishment of ports in other States to create new jobs and promote socio-economic activities in the country.

They also resolved to work to promote the economic development in our respective states and cooperate with the Federal Government to ensure the country overcomes the current security challenges.
