The Nigerian government have sent troops of Nigerian police to Somalia on a peace keeping mission to help tackle insecurity in the country. This is an indirect tale of a charity that is suppose to begin at home. The Nigerian government and its citizens have been struggling with the issue of  insecurity in the country. The internal and external security of the country has been in shambles, and it territorial intergrity has been threatened many more times than it's responsible that It seems the country is already loosing the battle against insecurity.

But Nigeria and it government finds it imperative to send a contingent of 144 police officers from Nigeria to Somalia in order to boost stabilization efforts in the country, the African Union mission said on Sunday. The statement reads; “AMISOM Police operations coordinator Daniel Ali Gwambal said 30 police officers to serve under the AMISOM for a period of one year will be deployed to Beletweyne in HirShabelle State, while the rest will serve in various roles in the capital, Mogadishu”.

In continuation, the statement read; They are here in order to fulfill the mandate of AMISOM with regards to operational support to the Somalis and at the same time to mentor the Somali Police Force (SPF),. “There are certain specific duties that are also incumbent on them to perform while they are here such as regular patrols at checkpoints, guard static duties and other duties that involve general policing,”

The question now is that why would the Nigerian government find itself in a position where it's important to send Nigerian police officers who are struggling to keep the nations insecurity under control sends another 144 for a security mission in Somalia. From all indications, it's safe to say the government of Nigeria is a joke. It's already established that Nigerian needs more hands in the policing and security department of the nation but still send part of the insufficient troops and officers fo Somalia for peace mission.

Acting out the big brother part or not, the leaders shouldn't be supporting an action that gives away insufficient Nigerian police personnel to other countries while it's facing insecurity issue in and around it boarders. It's now clear that the country head is in a state of incompetent and leadership quagmire
