Following incessant killing in Nigeria, the pope declared a prayer session for Nigeria at the Vatican City, Pope Francis n his word says; I want to assure my prayers for #Nigeria. Last Saturday more than one hundred farmers were brutally killed. May God welcome them in His peace and comfort their families, and convert the hearts of those who commit similar atrocities which gravely offend His name.

The issue of insecurity in Nigeria is far getting out of hand. Maybe the Vatican can use its vast amounts of wealth and help those families, maybe find a means to allay their fears and hopefully the prayer offered to them will work wonders, the usual prayer and pretence to care and do absolutely nothing is not popular anymore.

The incident of killing innocent farmers is the most violent direct attack against innocent civilians. We always talk of oneness and peace, now we should condemn this heinous crime together and pray to God to rest the souls of departed in peace and give comforts to their families, Seeing and listening these kinds of attacks, especially in the pious month of Advent when everyone is waiting for Jesus to come, heart comes in mouth. May Jesus prevail peace, prosperity and oneness in worldly society.

But a lot of people have challenged the Pope to use his good offices in affecting the grievous killing rampant in the country today, a commentator said; Instead of praying, you hold a position of power that can actually change the lives of millions of vulnerable people like those Nigerian farmers, do something to help change the path humanity is on. With great power comes great responsibility" actually fits here. Pray but ACT NOW.
