Christ of the abyss.

Underwater mysteries has continue to wow the occupant of the heart in different times, it’s appealing what the blue deep ocean could have in its desk and locker, researchers and under water photographer have come across some really weird things under water, that has left us with the ultimate bewilderment of how the hell it got there, or what the hell was there, under water mysteries like the barmunda triangle, what could be inside it, the Cuban underwater city, the Bernini road, Yonaguni Pyramids etc. but the image of Jesus standing underwater will definitely take your breath away.

Just imagine Jesus standing underwater fixed at the bottom of a deep blue ocean. The thought alone is quite amazing! Back in the year 2009, an underwater photographer, Steven Weir, was inspired by what he saw in the Florida Keys. He was on a mission to Coral Reef State Park to capture a photo of “Jesus with origins” located in the deep ocean floors of the Atlantic.

Surely, he was unaware he was about to take a shot of history he would never forget. Steven Weir admitted he was not what most would call a man of religious faith, but he also didn’t hesitate to admit the experience was truly inspirational. In 1954, an Italian sculpture, by the name of Guido Galletti, was known for creating the clay sculpture of Jesus Christ. During the same year it was sculpted, it was sunk deliberately in the Italian Riviera where a famous diver had died.

The sculpture still stands today, as a memorial known as the “Christ Of the Abyss.” Replicas of this original piece have been duplicated and placed under the water in different areas. It has been said, one of the replicas have been spotted on the ocean floors of Key Largo, Florida. After taking a picture of the sculptured Jesus, Steven ascended and looked down at it, for one last time. He says, “in the case of Christ of the Abyss, I think we all think of him as blessing the fish and protecting the reefs.” The Christ of the Abyss is making history and would truly be a sight to behold.
