A build-up of Russian military on Ukraine's border sparked international tensions. Countries like the United States, United Kingdom and some other world powers have weighed in on the build up.

But despite the internationally  built up tension, what about the ordinary people caught in the middle. i.e people living at the edge of the Ukrainian-held town Mar'inka.

Their homes must have been repeatedly hit by shells which must have definitely results to body injuries and possibly death.

They must have witnessed a couple of times unprecedented destructions. A residence of the area Valentyna and her daughter Halyna said they have at a time extracted shrapnel from their own stomach.

But despite daily shelling and shooting, the women are confident that Russia will not invade. They can't believe that anyone would want to start a war, knowing the bloodshed that would follow on his own people.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has denied that he's planning a military attack in the region. Halyna identifies one possible reason he "knows there are a large number of Russians living in the region.
