The tragic death of the country's Chief Of Army Staff have left a vacuum in that position of power for president to fill as soon as possible. Even as the country mourned the passing away of  General Ibrahim Attahiru, there's need to fill the vacuum left by him as soon as possible.

Some list of prospective candidates qualified for the job has been made, here are some list of names deemed fit to occupy the space of the nations Chief of Army Staff.

Major General Ben Ahanotu of Regular Course 35 from Anambra.

Major General MA Aliyu of Regular Course 36 from Gombe.

Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf of Regular Course 37 from Yobe.

Major General Faruk Yahaya of Regular Course 37 from Zamfara.

Although, the CoAS is not appointed based on sentiments or seniority rather it's based on whoever the Commander in Chief feels is or will be loyal to him. The Constitution gives him that privilege, even if the person he chooses is a Colonel, he can retire every other and promote his choice.

But he wouldn't do that because of the kind of gap that would leave in the army command. Appointing a Colonel to retire over 100 brigadier generals, major generals and Lt generals will spell doom for the appointee as they will evict him from the position before the end of the year.

All fingers crossed as we awaits the C in C choice once again to fill the important vacuum left by the demise of the late COAS
