PRESIDENT BUHARI’S HONEST ASSESSMENT ON ELECTORAL AMENDMENT BILL
President Buhari gave his honest assessment on the recently presented electoral bill
The recent electoral bill presented to president Buhari for ratification has generated a lot of mixed reactions, due to its rejection by the president.
But on channelstv interview, the president gave an honest dissection on the bill and give reasons why he didn't ratify it into law.
President Buhari insists he didn't sign the bill because it lacks options and credibility of democracy. In his words. " there should be options, you don't dictate to people and say you are practicing democracy, give them other options so they can make choices".
Although, the explanation sounds logical enough, it doesn't appeal to some quarters who thought the president passed up an opportunity to write his name in the history books by not ratifying the bill into law.
