Robinho faces nine years jail term
Brazilian forward Robinho have been sentenced to nine years imprisonment following his conviction of a rape charges levied against him.
Although, the ex AC Milan star is back in his boyhood club in Brazil, there's an international warrant for him to be arrested and brought back to Italy to face his jail term.
The Brazilian government has a long standing law of not repatriating its citizen to be jailed by other countries if they were found guilty of any charges.
But the former Manchester City forward will be arrested if he steps his foot into any country which is in agreement with the Italian government. At the previous appeal Robinho did admit to having ‘contact’ with the woman, but called it ‘consensual’.
He claimed after he left, his friends also had consensual sexual intercourse with the woman - while adding he can't speak for them. Key evidence used to convict the former Real Madrid star involved intercepted phone calls between Robinho and his friends.
It's reported Robinho said the woman 'was completely drunk'. But Robinho's legal team stated the messages were mistranslated into Italian.
